Not a government website, not a law firm

Labor Law by State is independent. It is not run by, endorsed by or connected to the U.S. Department of Labor, the Wage and Hour Division or any state labor department, and it does not handle wage claims. Nothing on it creates a lawyer-client relationship. The pages summarize published statutes, regulations and agency guidance so that a worker can understand them; a person's own case can turn on facts the site does not know, such as a union contract, an industry wage order or the size of the employer.

Liability

Each rule is read on an official page and dated, and the calculators are tested before each release, but laws change, sometimes in the middle of a year, and mistakes remain possible. The publisher is not liable for a decision taken on the site alone. Please report errors through the contact page.

Intellectual property

Texts, design and code belong to the publisher; short quotations with a link are welcome. Statutes, regulations and agency documents quoted remain public records.

Embedding

The worker rights calculator and the overtime calculator may be embedded for free with their credit link visible: see the embed page.

Personal data

The site sets no cookie and keeps nothing typed into the calculators. Details: privacy policy and cookies page.

Governing law

French law applies; failing an amicable settlement, the courts of France have jurisdiction. Updated: 2026-10-11.

General information, not legal advice: the calculators apply the published federal and state rules to the numbers you enter. Union contracts, local ordinances, industry wage orders and exemptions can change the answer; the state labor agency decides a wage claim.
